Deacons have been servants in local churches since the Book of Acts.
Here at Colonial Church, our deacon body is primarily called to assist in: praying for our church body, caring for the neglected (widows, orphans, shut-ins, hospitalized), involvement in unmet needs such as serving and witnessing, administration of church ordinances like communion, and offering support to staff and church.
As you prayerfully consider a deacon nomination, we also encourage you to review the following passages: Acts 6:1-7, 1 Timothy 3:8-13
