Job Description
Colonial Church is looking for a Lead Pastor to guide us on the next step of our journey as a body of believers. Our mission states, “Colonial Church is here to make disciples who unite Wichita Falls and impact the world.”
Principle Function: The Lead Pastor is responsible to the Elder-led Church for proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for using communication and administrative skills in leadership, for engaging in the pastoral care ministries to meet the needs of persons in the church and community, and to act as the chief administrator of the staff.
Qualifications:
2+ years as a lead pastor while managing and mentoring church staff (Required)
Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology (Preferred)
Satisfactory outcome of a background check.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging, authentic Biblically-based sermons with the majority of teachings
having original content and working closely with a four person teaching team.
Collaborate with a 4-person elder team, 20-person deacon team and a staff composed of 2 full-time and 2 part-time employees.
Mentor, manage, and support church staff plus 50 volunteers, fostering a positive, collaborative
work environment with robust leadership development.
Work with church leadership and staff to carry out vision and mission.
Build relationships within the church and community, provide spiritual leadership, and promote
growth through small groups, Bible studies, and outreach activities.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Exceptional communication skills and a servant leader with the ability to connect with a diverse congregation and adapt to various ministry contexts.
Strong leadership skills with a passion for empowering others and fostering a collaborative, team- oriented environment.
A deep understanding of and commitment to the Bible and Christian theology.
